Is your book ready to be published? Consider Late November Literary as the publisher for you! We are a small, home-grown, traditional and hybrid publisher that does not offer advances. However, we work closely with our authors to make sure their book is ready for the world for a fraction of the cost.
We are currently accepting manuscripts in the following categories:
*Clean women's fiction (this includes subgenres of romance and contemporary, but it must be clean).
*Inspirational nonfiction (Christian living, devotionals, but nothing too heavy).
*Clean young adult fiction (most subgenres of YA are welcome, but it must be cleanly written).
*Early chapter books (for ages 6-9; no more than 150 pages; preferably under 100).
We are also accepting shorter works for upcoming anthologies! Do you have a short story or short narrative that fits these categories?
*Seeking Christian romance short stories (under 5,000 words).
*Seeking true accounts of the miraculous (under 5,000 words).
*Seeking true accounts of overcoming heartbreak (think of this as personal testimonies under 5,000 words).
If you would like us to consider your book/story, please send us a well-written query letter that details the book/story and tells us a little about yourself. A query letter is no more than one page. Please write it in the email (no attachments, please). Underneath the query letter, copy and paste the first several pages of your manuscript.
We try to respond to every query. Please be patient.
We look forward to reading your query letter and sample pages!
Send all query letters and correspondence to jbroyles@latenovemberliterary.com.
Our editing services start at $50 dollars! No project is too big or too small. However, the cost will depend on what editing services you require and how many pages are involved in the project. Should you choose to work with Late November in publishing your book, choosing us to edit your work is the expectation.
For projects 10 pages and under: editing services start at $75 dollars. We offer line edits and copy edits
For projects between 11-40 pages: editing services start at $75 dollars (the average cost is approx. $100 dollars). We offer line edits and copy edits.
For projects between 41-99 pages: editing services start at $120 dollars. We offer line edits and copy edits.
For projects 100 pages or more (these are considered book length projects): editing services start at $2.00 per page.
*All projects need to be properly formatted (double-spaced, no font smaller than 12, chapters starting on new pages).
*Editing services include thorough read-through of digital document (Word preferred), and 'track changes' throughout. A complete write-up of project, along with overarching critiques and suggestions is also provided. A 15-20 minute phone conversation of the edit is also included.
**Disclaimer: all edits follow the standard English language. However, critiques and suggestions of the project are subjective based on publishing and professional industry standards. There is no refund or exchange for editing services.**
Book consultations and/or critiques are a great way to have a publishing professional provide a thorough critique of your entire project. This does not necessarily include line or copy edits. This examines the whole project and provides suggestions of 'big ticket items,' such as characterization, chapter set-up, proper hook, allocated suspense, proper plot arch, etc. These consultations/critiques are very thorough. If there are any plot holes, we will find them! If there are any places of author voice intrusion, we will highlight it! This is a fantastic service for those authors who want a critical eye on their book before it is sent off to publication.
These consultations/critiques include a complete write-up of critiques and/or suggestions of entire project (on average these write-ups are 10-15 pages). A 15-30 phone conversation is the consultation portion of this service.

Please reach us at jbroyles@latenovemberliterary.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
First, let's start with what it is not. Hybrid publishing is NOT vanity or self-publishing. We are traditional in our model (vetting all submissions, editing manuscripts, creating amazing book covers and content, publishing through distribution channels, assisting in reviews and marketing, offering publishing contract with author royalties on net sales) and occasionally offer traditional contracts for authors with large platforms and excellent marketing strategy. Most authors, if selected for publication, will be offered a hybrid publishing contract. What makes us hybrid is that we expect the author to contribute to the initial cost involved in publishing the book.
Since we are a small, independent publisher, all authors who choose to work with us will need to commit to an initial cost to cover a portion of expenses. We pride ourselves on being a fraction of the cost of other hybrid publishers. This cost is approximately $1800, and it covers editing of manuscript, cover design and interior formatting, publication through Amazon and other online retailers, availability through major distribution channels (Ingram), marketing and review assistance.
All of our books are available for purchase online or in bookstores. We currently offer e-books through Kindle, and we offer print books wherever books are sold.
You can purchase books right here by clicking on the "SHOP" tab at the top of the page.
Our authors are incredible individuals, and they would love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out to them individually (they all have author webpages and blogs). If you need additional assistance, feel free to contact us, and we will help you get in touch with them.
First of all, great job on completing a manuscript! Please make sure it is edited and the very best it can be before you reach out to any publisher or book professional. It is also important to have an understanding of the different types of publishers: traditional publishing, hybrid publishing, and self-publishing. Late November is a traditional and a hybrid publisher (See earlier question and answer for an explanation on hybrid publishing).
If interested in Late November as your publisher, read on:
We would love to consider your work. Please follow our directions for query submission. If we like what we read, we will ask for the entire manuscript (please don't send it unless requested). Should we choose to accept your manuscript for publication, we will either offer a traditional contract or a hybrid contract. This will be determined based on potential sales of the book and your platform.
Most manuscripts accepted are done through our hybrid operation. Hybrid is a GREAT way to get published, especially if you are still growing your platform and desire to get your books published and in the hands of readers. There is an initial $600 fee (or more, depending on length of manuscript) for editing services. This is not refundable, but you will receive a complete edit of the entire manuscript, along with editing notes of what to fix. Once you have completed the edits and revisions to the manuscript, you will then send it back to us for review. If we decide to move forward with publication, you will need to pay the rest of the cost investment (approximately $1000 to $1200), and a publication contract will be sent to you for review and signature. Since you pay for initial cost of the published book, you do receive a higher net royalty for books sold (60% royalties of net sales).
Let us know if you have any other questions! We look forward to hearing from you.
The short answer to this question is: both.
We are very selective about titles we take on where we offer a traditional contract (where there are no upfront fees, and there is a royalty % split of net sales (60% publisher; 40% author).
We are also selective about titles we choose for our hybrid contract, but the hybrid contract is offered to those who may not have a strong enough platform yet to sell enough copies needed for our company to break even (let alone earn a profit). However, we are a fraction of the cost of other hybrid models, and we split the cost in two-to-three payments to make it easier on the author.
Both publishing models offer stunning covers and interior design, along with editing, distribution, and marketing.
